WHEW!!

Ok, Jaidean and Janice...you didn't warn me about how much work TWO kids would be :) I am worn out and totally behind on blogging!! Sooooo, allow me to attempt to catch up a bit!!!

BE NICE, BE GENTLE, GENTLY, NO, DON'T SMACK HIS HEAD! YES, THOSE ARE TANNER'S EYES HE DOESN'T LIKE IT WHEN YOU POKE THEM!! HA! These are all things you can hear DAILY in the Miller house! Teeghun LOVES his little brother and I am not sure that the feeling is mutual...I swear that Tanner looks at me with this look like Did I ask for a big brother?? I don't recall asking for a big brother!!" I am sure that he will grow to adore Teeghun when he can defend himself! Teeghun wants to hold Tanner all the time and is a HUGE help in getting burp clothes, taking bottles to be washed, letting mama know when Tanner is crying (just in case I couldn't hear him) and putting in the pacifier ALL THE TIME :)

We went to the Canterbury Girl's Semi-State basketball game this past Saturday, it was Tanner's first big outing and his first basketball game. I was soo proud because we were all organized and even ready to leave the house early, which mind you was rare with one and I figured darn near impossible with two kiddos!! We get to Plymouth High School and open the back hatch to get the bags out (one for Tanner and one for Teeghun)...GUESS WHO FORGOT TANNER'S DIAPER BAG!! YEPPER ME, the one with her act together! HA! Soooo, Steve took Teeghun in to the game and Mom rode with me to find a Wal-Mart for diapers, formula and a bottle! Good Grief!! You can bet that we will NEVER forget the diaper bag again!! HA!! We can laugh about this now!!!

Sunday Tanner went to church for the first time and he was the center of attention, we tried to draw Teeghun in also so that he would get some attention as well. People were making over him for being a new big brother!

This week has been a whirlwind of craziness...we are just trying to resume some normalcy to our daily life. We have taken Teeghun to the daycare all week so that he has something that seems to be routine. He doesn't seem to mind, in fact I think that he is relieved that there is one area of his life that hasn't changed since the arrival of Tanner.

We are packing up and heading to Indianapolis today for the weekend; Canterbury won on Saturday so they advanced to the State Finals, so we will be going to watch Uncle Scott and his Canterbury Lady Cavaliers play basketball on Saturday. We got a hotel with a pool so this will give Teeghun something to do.

Until the next post, which I promise will be sooner than the last :) Here are some pictures...

Home Sweet Home

Yes! That is right! WE ARE HOME! Two days post-op and we are home!! I am sooo glad to be home!! The nurses couldn't believe that I wanted to go home today but I was ready! I am feeling really good and Tanner is a really good baby! He slept five hours last night between feedings of course we are home now so that will all probably change!!!

Here are some pictures of Teeghun trying to share his Cadbury Creme Egg with Tanner, he couldn't understand why Tanner couldn't have a bite!!

Here Tanner have a bite of my Cadbury Egg

Are you sure that he cannot have a bite?

Ok I will eat it myself!!

TANNER STEVEN...

Tanner Steven Miller made his presence known on Monday, February 18th at 7:49 am. He weighed 8 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long (Teeghun was 8 pounds 15 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long). His head was 14 1/2 inches around, chest was 13 inches...

Big Brother Teeghun seems to think that he is "OK" and as you can see from the picture he wasn't afraid to hold him! But we have already learned that when he is "all done" he is all done NOW :)!!! We think that he will be a great big brother!!

We will update frequently...

Sunday, 3:58 am = THUD

It is the sound I have been dreading since we transitioned Teeghun to his new bed...yepper he fell out of bed! It was 3:58 am, we heard a thud, then nothing and then a cry! I knew that there was no way I was getting out of bed quickly (have you seen any 9 month pregnant woman move quickly???) but Steve can move like lightning! He was out of bed and across the hall scooping him up in no time! He cried for about 60-90 seconds and then he was reaching for his bed (this was a relief because I was afraid that he might not want anything to do with his bed if he ever fell out, perhaps it was good (??) that it happened when he might still have been 1/2 asleep)! I gave him a 1/2 dose of Tylenol just in case he had hit his head or anything but we didn't see any bumps. At 7:00 am he was awake and ready to go to church, I had him go upstairs with me just to see if everything was moving ok :) he was just fine! I know that God makes little kids resilient but man alive scared me to death! We have yet to figure out how he fell out of bed, the opening where he fell out couldn't be more than a foot across, but there is now a pillow stuffed in it until we see if it is going to happen again!

Now...when your heart is beating that fast at 4:00 am the likelihood that you are going back to sleep is slim to none!! I of course cried! Poor Steve that is happening a lot right now :) then I think that I dozed a little bit but I kept one ear listening for another thud! Last night he slept just fine and when we woke him up this morning to go to the fire station to get the infant carseats installed, he was at the opposite end of the bed smashed up against the footboard! I think that he likes having all this extra room for moving around at night!

Keep us in your prayers this week as we prepare for Baby T's arrival. Steve commented last night that it will be a crazy busy week at work this week trying to get everything done before being off work for three weeks (yes three weeks!!!!) He has to go to Detroit on Friday for some testing that had to be done before he took off work; I look for him to have to go into work at least once during the time that he is off because they are sooo busy and his to do list will only continue to grow while he is off work. We washed all of Teeghun's clothes this weekend so the nursery dresser is stocked and ready for Baby T. I of course have become quite emotional over the last couple days, hoping that Teeghun will adjust well to the new addition...we are already discussing ways to make sure that Teeghun gets as much attention as the new baby and that he doesn't feel threatened by the baby's arrival!! As a mother I told Steve that I am sure that I am more worried about that then he is; Steve is already looking ahead to college savings plans :) HA!!!

Here is a picture of Teeghun enjoying cousin Chelsea's birthday cake and also a picture of him on one of the fire engines this morning, I only had my cell phone to take a picture of him but it still turned out pretty good.

WE SURVIVED!!!

Ok, so this picture is blurry and I am bummed!! I love the feature on my camera where you can take pictures in a completely dark room but sometimes they turn out blurry...which is a bummer!!!

We all survived the first night in Teeghun's big boy room, ESPECIALLY the big boy bed! Teeghun graduated from his crib to a queen sized bed on Monday night and he did great in spite of MAJOR nerves from Mommy and Daddy!! Mommy was so nervous she went to a MOPS meeting and let Daddy handle the transition herself, nice of me huh!?!? Daddy put him to bed, shut the door (cause the headboard is right against the hallway wall) and Teeghun started to cry. Steve poked his head back in and assured him that it was ok and that he should lay down with his bubba's (doggies) and go to sleep. Teeghun must have been reassured cause he laid down and we didn't hear a peep out of him. He sat up when we did his breathing treatment but you could tell that he was half asleep. He looks really small in his bed but he did great and never got out until this morning when he was standing at the gate to his room yelling "MAMA"!! We were giving high-fives and really making over him sleeping in his new bed! I think that he likes his new room!!!

Other exciting news...he is showing interest in the potty chair...IS MOMMY READY FOR THIS?? NOT sure!! He went potty over the weekend on it (we partied) and then again last night before tubby time (not sure if daddy partied like mommy does it not :) HA!!...

He hasn't been eating well at all lately, so much so that the daycare called us concerned because they could tell that he was dropping weight and looking really skinny!!! You can almost criss-cross the tabs on his diapers he was getting so small. I called Dr. Bollier's office yesterday and they assured me that at this stage in their lives they can go through a real eating SLUMP and she said "I do mean slump"! Fran (his nurse) gave us some Nutri-Pals (nutrition bars for toddlers) and some Pediasure (which stinks more than formula) to try and he wasn't really crazy about the bars but liked the Pediasure...so we will supplement with that when we think that he isn't eating as much as he should. He is down to 29 pounds (was 27 pounds in September at his 18 month appointment) and he is getting taller every time we look at him!!

I promise to post pictures of his new room soon!!!
